Amsterdam Rijksmuseum in a grey sweater dress and boots

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

Wow.. it's almost 2018! There is only Christmas and NYE between this year and the next one! Sad thing is that for me, it seems like this year just flew by so quickly. And I never really got to experience it fully. I mean,.. I'm sure that if I made list of all the things I've done in 2017, it would be a long list. But it was almost like I was looking at it from the perspective of an audience member. Do I make sense?

Anyway, enough rambling! One of the things I always do enjoy and experience to the fullest.. are my visits to museums. And last month, it was time for a visit to the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum.. home of the famous Night Watch painting by Rembrandt.

Unsurprisingly with the weather these last months, I opted for boots and tights again. This time though, I took my grey boots (by Buffalo again.. I just love that brand!).

And to keep myself warm, I wore a grey sweater dress and black coat. It worked perfectly.. especially after a hot cup of coffee! ;-)

So during the warmer months when I jog regularly, I can actually reach speeds of 15 km/u (about 9 miles per hour for you Yankees). But I don't think I can reach those speeds in these heels.. so I don't think I'll risk breaking the speed limit considering the blue sign behind me! :-P

You know me.. I love wearing heels, but they do make a lot of noise. Fortunately, there were lots of people admiring the Rembrandt (on the right). And the Rijksmuseum is probably the most visited museum in the Netherlands... so nobody heard me anyways! :-P

Never let it be said that I don't like to be the centre of attention!

Just imagine if I could have the museum to myself with these marble floors! The sound would be mesmerising! :-D

As per usual after a day in Amsterdam, we always head to the Bijenkorf to stare at some beautiful shoes and to have some dinner. One day.. I might actually buy myself some 700 euro shoes, but it was not that day! :-P

By the time of these last 2 pics.. it was already 8 o' clock and it started to rain a bit, so we quickly went back to our cars and concluded another lovely day in Amsterdam! ;-)

It's been a while since my last post, so I truly and sincerely hope everyone is doing great!

Hope you enjoy the video of me in Amsterdam and in the museum.. it's still without my new microphone, but the sound should be okay!

Time for jeans and boots

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

Well.. so much for that steady rhythm, eh? Whenever you think that life is finally slowing down a little bit.. it suddenly picks up steam with work and social issues! ;-)

Anyway, time for a new post.. and yes, it has become so cold in the Netherlands that I had to pick my outfits to reflect that.

A trend that I've been seeing for a long time now (possibly for over a year), is the one of ripped jeans with fishnets underneath. Now.. I'm a fan of jeans and I'm a fan of fishnets, so I'm totally on board with trend! :-D

I love to shop for bargains and if I see a good deal.. I'll get it. It doesn't always mean I'll be wearing it that same year! And that's the story of this leather jacket from the brand ArmA.. they're stuff is amazing, but expensive. But I had been eyeing this jacket for a long time and when it was 50% off, I didn't hesitate one second!

Obviously, I'm wearing jeans because it's cold, so I'm also wearing boots! And these ones are one of my favourites! Simple black over-the-knee boots with a 5 inch stiletto heel from Buffalo. And I think I've mentioned it before.. these are so surprisingly comfortable!

The one item I haven't yet mentioned is the striped top. I love it with this outfit.. and I will combine this top with other outfits for that parisienne chic feel!

For anyone not familiar with the sky-line.. I'm in Rotterdam again. One of my favourite places to get some photos and video clips with that urban vibe!

Though one of these months, I should just book a ticket to New York with a suitcase full of outfits and do lots of photo and video shoots over there! :-P

Oh, and just to prove I'm relatively responsible.. this was me after getting out of the car. I don't drive with my heels on! ;-)

It's so dark outside, so I hope you all still can catch some sun!

I actually got a new microphone for my video camera, so I hope my future videos will block out the wind a bit more. Unfortunately, these current videos still have some noise though!

Lace-ups and studs

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

Yep, getting in a steady rhythm of posting.. sort of. Go me!

My last post featured an outfit from 2016.. but with this post, we're back in 2017. Because I have to face it.. 2018 is already knocking on the door, so I gotta get my rear in gear and step up my posting!!

You all know that I love colourful dresses and colourful shoes, but my first and true love will always be the black dress. The first type of clothing I bought back when I was young.. was a midi-length black dress (I still have it!!).

I do try to look for variety with these black dressses.. and this one has all these laced-up details going up and down the dress. It's from Missguided.. and in my case, that means I have to go up one size. I really hope it's their sizing and not that I'm skimping on my work-out routine! :-P

Now, with an LBD, I usually like black heels.. but this time, I thought I'd wear the studded stiletto heels that were gift from my dance teacher. I really love as they are a) very sexy and b) super comfy for what are at least 5.5 inch heels!

With a black dress like this, I do like a bit of green around me.. so went to the local park to get the actual photos and videos. Dodging joggers and cyclists wasn't easy while wearing these heels!

It was a summer say.. it was hot.. and there was an ice-cream truck. So obviously, one doesn't need higher mathematics to figure out that I got me some! :-D

And yes, I did spill some on my dress, because I'm just clumsy like that! :-P

Finishing up this post with a little hair toss.. not intentional, but my photographer likes taking this pics while I'm not paying attention! :-P

I hope you all had a great weekend! Now let's take on Monday like a boss!

It was quite a long way back to the car.. so I wore sneakers before and after filming the video clips! :-P

Puffy yellow dress, a bit of cork.. and icecream

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

Okay, okay.. I had 2 posts within 7 days, but then.. life got busy! Gotta work, gotta pay them bills! :-P

You all know that I'm much more active when it comes to dressing up nicely, taking photos and videos when it's warm and sunny. So yeah, there are lots of outfits of summer 2017 that I'm going to show here on this blog.

However, I still have outfits from 2016 on my computer.. and I felt it would be a waste to not post them here!

So, on a gorgeous summer day in 2016, I wanted to wear something bright and happy, so I picked this yellow dress. I totally love the eye-popping colour! And I enjoyed wearing it as it was very loose-fitting which was ideal in this heat.

However, looking at these photos (and especially the photos that didn't make the cut), I don't think this dress was particularly flattering for me. In hindsight, I should have defined my waist with a subtle black belt. Ah well.. lessons were learned! ;-)

As for the location for this photo-shoot.. I chose one of the watermills near the Dutch city of Eindhoven. There are many watermills in the Netherlands and sometimes, they are located in beautiful spots. And a lot of times, the buildings are in their original states.

Then again, most locations are beautiful when the sun is shining, right? ;-)

For the shoes, I chose my cork-heeled sandals. They are perfect for the summer (I also wore them this summer) and super comfy! And also, because I was wearing yellow.. I thought it would be a nice contrast to paint my nails bright red. I think it works.. do you agree?

It was a summer say.. it was hot.. and there was an ice-cream truck. So obviously, one doesn't need higher mathematics to figure out that I got me some! :-D

And yes, I did spill some on my dress, because I'm just clumsy like that! :-P

Looking at this last photo, the dress does look fine, but I'm cheating a little bit with my posing. Sooo,.. I don't regret getting rid of this dress! :-P

However, I'm curious what you girls think.. was I wrong to part with it?

This week is pretty tiring for me. I hope it's much more relaxed for you!

My camera person actually almost fell while filming me.. fortunately, nothing bad happened!!

Yet another three dresses - sponsored by ROMWE

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

Well, it seems like I'm getting back into the swing of things with posting new stuff.. let's see how long this lasts! :-P

Again, I'm showing 3 dresses I chose from the Romwe website .. it was a sunny Sunday last week when we shot all the material. And this Sunday.. I actually had time for editing!

The first dress is a red off-the-shoulder summer dress. I think the colour is fantastic.. and I paired it with a new pair of stiletto heels! It is a dress that shows every curve.. and judging from the video, I think I need to flatten my tummy a little bit to make this dress look even better! Ah well.. a week of my mom's food didn't help! :-P

The second dress is a cute blue-ish dress which I combined together with my red heels, because I think red and blue are just perfect together! I think it would look even better with a petticoat underneath it, don't you think? ;-)

The third dress is black one-strap dress with lovely flower prints on it. I think this one is really elegant.. and I'd probably wear this to a garden party.. even though I don't think October will have many outdoor parties. Unless I travel to Australia or New Zealand!!

Again, I am totally in love with these dresses.. that red one is really hot, the blue-ish one is so nice for a day out sight-seeing.. and the third is great for a party!

What do you think? I really want to hear your feedback and opinions! :-)

Similar to the last few times, my experiences with Romwe was very pleasant! Again, they also gave out a $5 coupon code when your order is above $55: RWENJOY5

Anyway, here are the links if you want to check these dresses out!

Have a great week!

Video clips of all these dresses.. enjoy! :-)

Feeling blue

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

You might be thinking,.. a blog-post within a week of the last one?! Oh yes, I am going to make a serious effort to be a bit more productive! :-D

While my summer has been busy, I did get to enjoy the warm and sunny days.. and I did get to wear my pretty dresses and sexy shoes! And better yet.. my friends were willing to photograph and film during those days! ♥

For this day, I went for a blue dress (and I think it's well established that I pretty much like all kinds of blue dresses). The lace details are so cute and feminine and I think this dress is perfect for both the office and for having cocktails afterwards.

Since it was a warm and sunny day, I actually took the effort of painting my nails, both fingers and toes. I have lots of other nailpolish colours so I should try them all before it gets too cold.

Are there any nailpolish fans out there?

One thing I only recently started paying attention to.. is checking how my outfit looks from the back. Sometimes a dress looks gorgeous looking in the mirror, but really frumpy from the other side. And let's be honest.. lots of people will also be looking at your backside, right? ;-)

I really like the combination of blue and red whether it's nails or heels!

Here's a close-up of the heels. Yes, they look really high.. but surprisingly, they do walk quite comfortably! Check the YouTube video if you don't believe me! :-P

So yay! I actually posted something within a week! Let's see if I can keep it up! ;-)

Hope this is a nice week for you all!

The sun was setting when we got to photographing and filming this outfit.. so there's not much footage for the video. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it!! :-)

Stripey stuff, short skirts and sandals.. and fast food

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

I'm not even going to comment on the fact that again it's been quite a while that I blogged something. We all know how time flies, right? ;-)

Summarising the summer: it has been a busy couple of months.. haven't had any holidays yet.. and in 2 days, it's going to be officially autumn ( or fall if you're American :-P ).

Though that didn't stop me from enjoying the occasional sunny day with my friends!

When it comes to outdoor outfits, I noticed I usually wear dresses or jeans. I think that's because choosing a dress is much easier and wearing jeans is just super comfy. With skirts, I always have to think about a flattering top.. hoping that it will enhance my almost non-existing curves.

My previous post was on black and white patterned dresses and yes.. even my top couldn't escape my preferences. I do love how it makes the outfit give off a sort of French Parisienne vibe! The only thing I need now is a beret, some wine and a baguette! ;-)

I don't know if the pink/coral strappy heels can be considered French... but it was one of the last nice days of summer, so I was dead set on wearing these kind of shoes before boots season starts!

As you can see in the pics above.. our afternoon late lunch was not exactly French cuisine! :-P

Earlier that afternoon, we parked the car somewhere near a park.. but there was no real path to the water. So I just got one shot on the gravelly path and then we headed back to the car to go the Burger King.

That's it for this week.. hope to post something next week. We can always have good intentions! ;-)

Hope you're all off to a great start of this week!

And yes, new footage means a new YouTube video! Short and sweet.. so enjoy! :-)

The quest for the perfect black and white dress

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

Oooh.. boy! Almost a month since my last blog-post and YouTube video.. what is up with that?!

It's supposed to be summer, but it has been so busy with work that I couldn't find time to properly sit down and do some editing and create actual stuff. And yes, I do notice that it's far easier to just post a photo to Instagram or Flickr. Still, not as fulfilling as writing and finishing a blog-post.

Anyway, enough yammering! It's Sunday and I thought to post a few pics of my indoor test photo-shoots I did last Friday. The theme of the shoot was black and white patterned dress.. and I ordered two dresses to see how well they fit me. I would love to hear your opinions!  ;-)

The first B/W dress has all these black stripes in a random pattern which I really like. With my height of 1,70 metres ( that's 5 feet 7 for you Yanks :-P ), this dress ends just above my knees. Respectable, right?

With B/W dresses, I like to put in some bright colours in there. So for this outfit, I chose red heels and slightly brighter bag. Just for that added pop!

The second B/W dress has a pattern which I think is inspired by both florals and ink-blots. I do think this dress looks darker because there's more black in it. And with these kinds of dresses, I do prefer them to be a bit more brighter.

No bag for this outfit, but I did change the shoes.. because variety is the spice of life.. or something like that! :-P

So, what do you think of these dresses? Do they fit and flatter me? I'm not super convinced yet.

And what colour would you choose for the heels? You all know I have many to choose from! ;-)

Hope you had a great weekend!

Haven't found the time yet to create new videos, even though I have tons of material just waiting to be editing. So I will just put some links to these older ones. :-)

Three dresses - sponsored by Romwe

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

In my previous blog-post last week, I mentioned that I tried to be a bit more efficient than usual.. and get photos and video clips of my dresses in the few days that were available to me. And since I promised to post all the stuff before August: well.. it's still July here in the Netherlands. :-P

Thus today, I'm showing 3 dresses I chose from the Romwe website .. all in the glorious sunshine these dresses deserve!

I was also checking out the tights section of the Romwe website, more on that at the end of the post.

The first dress is a super bright sunflower summer dress. You will notice a theme with all three dresses and that is that they do not cover my shoulders. I think my shoulders are on the wider side, but this is still okay, right?

The second dress is a baby blue ruffle dress which I combined with a black belt of my own.. just so that it defines my figure a little bit more. And I think light blue goes very nicely with the red bag and stiletto heels! ;-)

The third dress is yet another sunflower dress, but more on the orange side. I also really love this dress, but one of the straps did break while I was wearing it for this photo-shoot! Fortunately, a friend of mine who's quite handy with the trusty needle and thread fixed it. So keep in mind that the quality might not be the best.

The fourth item is actually a set of 4 items in itself! And this was a set of fishnet tights with varying pattern sizes. Here is a pic from the website and I can at least confirm that they look like this in real life.

I do have some photos and video clips, but I did not have the time to properly edit them. So that will be something for the next post, but I can already tell that they fit perfectly.. considering my legs are relatively long for my body length of 170 centimetres.

So yeah.. I was really glad with these dresses considering the hot weather of the last weeks. What do you think of them? I really want to hear your feedback and opinions! :-)

Similar to the last few times, my experiences with Romwe was very pleasant and they were so patient while I found the time to get photos and videos.. and post all of the stuff. They also gave out a $5 coupon code when your order is above $55: RWENJOY5

Anyway, here are the links if you want to check these dresses out!

Have a great week!

Video clips of all these dresses.. enjoy! :-)

A red jumpsuit and blue top - sponsored by Shein

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

It's summer.. but somehow, this summer doesn't feel like a real summer to me. Lots of work and lots of rain.. it feels like a normal month in the spring or fall. I hope August will bring that classic summer feeling!

Anyhoo.. this is another sponsored post, since Shein offered me yet again to pick two items from their website. At this point, it's quite hard trying to also find time to do these photo-shoots. So during this day.. I also did photos for another sponsored post, which I will post in a week. I hope you don't mind. :-)

The first item is a red jumpsuit with some frilly details and a mesh neckline. I have come to appreciate jumpsuits and I have one in black and one in dark blue. Some boots, a belt and possibly a hat.. and you're done!

I got this jumpsuit in size M. I like it, but to be honest,.. it didn't fit as well as I hoped. Also, the quality of the stitching of the mesh neckline was shoddy. It unraveled a little bit when I tried it on the first time.

I paired this jumpsuit with my black boots from Forever 21 and my always dependable black belt with metal details. A combination of black and red always works so nicely! :-)

The second item is a blue top with an split open back. Now, this one's totally on me for not carefully reading the description!

Firstly though, I also got this top in size M and I totally love the colour of the top! This was the main reason I picked this item. What I don't like.. and again, my fault for not reading: the open back.. my bra is visible.. the wind basically exposed everything.. so, definitely not a keeper!

I hope you like my short reviews on these items. I am always honest which is quite clear in this post! :-)

Again, my experiences with Shein was very pleasant even though I am not this enthusiastic about the items this time. Anyway, here are the links if you want to check these items out!

Have a great week!

Rotterdam is such a nice and versatile city... so I did shoot the videos over there!

High heels dance performance

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

As some of you might know from my other social media accounts (mostly Flickr, Facebook and Instagram).. I have been following high heels dance classes since the fall last year. I had never danced in my 40-year life.. and I just wanted learn some graceful feminine moves. And perhaps not make a fool of myself if I ever found myself on the dance-floor! :-P

So, imagine my hesitation when the dance teacher, at the beginning of this year, asked our group if we wanted to perform at the end-of-season festival! After a bit of thinking, we all said: what the heck.. and we went for it!

And all the photos that you see in this post were the result of taking a risk and saying yes! :-D

The festival was on the 2nd of July.. and there were two session scheduled: on in the morning and in the afternoon. So, we had to get there early and get in our dresses and do our make-up. And of course, snapping pics for Instagram.

Of course, we had to make a group photo! Sadly, our teacher was missing in this photo, because she was also very busy running the rest of the show.

Fortunately, the professional photographer took a pic of the 6 of us together striking a pose!

Here is an action shot of me... I'm just relieved the photographer caught me in a somewhat okay pose. It's very easy to catch someone in very uncharming pose when they are dancing! :-P

I don't often take selfies, but this one in the changing room was quite all right. I guess I should be thankful for smart-phone filters! :-P

And this is us after the performance.. giving our feet a little bit of rest!

Needless to say, it was an amazing experience and I hope to be part of this next year!

 Have a great weekend!

There is a DVD of the whole performance available for sale. I still have to buy. In the mean time, you can see part of the performance on Instagram! And of course, you can watch the last 2 videos I posted on YouTube. :-)
